On January 3, 2025 American hero and Millbrook resident Charles Johnson received the Congressional Medal of Honor awarded posthumously to his sister Juanita Johnson Mendez, a long time Millbrook resident. The long overdue recognition honors a man whose courage and selflessness exemplified the highest ideals of service and sacrifice, character values that were evident throughout his early life.
